FAFSA 101 - What you need to know
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that may be completed online that all current and prospective college students must complete if they are to receive financial aid. While it is not required for everyone to fill out, most colleges require a FAFSA on file before financial aid is distributed. This makes it important to correctly complete it in a timely manner. The FAFSA can be completed as early as January 1st. The deadline is typically in June; however, many colleges require it to be completed before the deadline. Always check the due date with the institution you plan on attending.
